In-Service Description: Youth Mental Health First Aid is similar to being CPR-certified for mental health challenges. Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. Participants will learn how to interact with youth in a crisis and apply the First Aid action plan.

First Objective: Recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges that may impact youth.
Second Objective: Apply the appropriate steps of the MHFA Action Plan (ALGEE) in Crisis and Non-crisis scenarios.
Third Objective: Practice appropriate methods for self-care following the application of Youth Mental Health First Aid in a crisis or non-crisis situation.
