SPECIAL CLOVERS CAMP

Saints Grove Campground, Glencoe, Okla. March 20-22, 2020 

$15 Per Camper

Open to 4-H members with special needs ages 8-17

We are once again excited about the opportunity to reach 4-H members who might not have attended camp in the past or could not fully participate in camp activities. Campers will enjoy a full 4-H camp experience, complete with team-building exercises, outdoor activities, and more! Registration deadline is February 28th, and the camp is open to the first 15 campers with paid registrations. The cost of the camp is $15 per camper and checks should be made payable to the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation. 

Youth who require assistance with bathing, restroom, or lifting must provide a caregiver to provide these duties.  The caregiver can be a parent or person designated by the member’s family.  Lodging and meals will be provided to one caregiver at no additional cost.  This requirement is in accordance to Oklahoma State University Division of Institutional Diversity. 

Camp Purpose:  

  • 4-H members with special needs will have the opportunity to fully participate in a traditional 4-H camp. As a result of the Special Clovers Camp.
  • 4-H Clover buddies (teen leaders) will serve as mentors to youth with special needs, while developing empathy, and problem-solving skills.

 Participants:  15 Campers with 2 Clover buddies per camper 

 

 

Clover Buddies

The 4-H Clover Buddy program is open to current freshman, sophomore, junior and senior 4-H members. Youth Youth in 7th and 8th grade who are interested in serving as a Clover Buddy for the program can submit an application but must have an email of support from their Extension Educator. Youth in 7th and 8th grade will be considered for Clover Buddies if all slots are not filed. Clover Buddies will receive online training prior to the camp and arrive on March 22 for camp preparation.
