I was born in Chitwan, Nepal. I graduated from Tribhuvan University with B.Sc.Ag in Horticulture in 2008. In 2009, I worked with Alternative Energy Promotion Center, Government of Nepal as an officer promoting Jatropha (Jatropha curcas) plants as means of biofuel. After a year I came to the US and earned my M.S. in Natural Resources from University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a minor in Statistics in 2013. Currently, I am PhD Student in Soil Sciences at Oklahoma State Univ. working under advisory of Dr. Tyson Ochsner.

My research is focused on using soil moisture as means to predict vegetation dynamics in Oklahoma grasslands. Vegetation dynamics include carbon cycling, biomass, energy and water fluxes. The research is funded by the USDA Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Grazing CAP, The Joint Fire Science Program and Oklahoma Agricultural Experimental Station.
