Dollar Spot is Active on Creeping Bentgrass

By Dr. Damon Smith

Dollar spot has been identified on creeping bentgrass putting greens in the Stillwater area this week.  As the warm, wet weather pattern persists in the state, dollar spot will continue to be on the rise.  In addition to persistant rain, continously high humidity levels also contribute to dollar spot increase.  Data collected in Oklahoma has demonstrated that a 5-day average relative humidity level of 70% or above and temperatures greater than 60 F are sufficient for increase in dollar spot.
